We are hiring a Heavy Duty Mechanic /Marine Technician with excellent customer service skills. Must be able to work independently as well as be a great team member.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot a variety of marine mechanical systems of any size
  • Knowledge with rigging and installations
  • Proficient with electrical and hydraulic systems
  • Diagnose and repair all inboard/ outboard engines (Diesel experience required)
  • Boat trailer repairs and maintenance
  • Knowledge with computer software/diagnostics systems
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills
  • Previous experience in Volvo Penta , Cummins , Mercruiser ( asset )
  • Maintain a clean/organized work space
  • Detailed work orders and time sheets
  • Knowledge of parts and time tracking
  • Follow health and safety guidelines
  • Own required tools
  • Knowledge and ability to haul boats ( asset )
  • Travel to where vessel is and perform repairs independently
  • Must be physically fit and able to lift heavy equipment
  • Ability to operate forklift

Qualifications and Skills

  • Interprovincial Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic (preferred ) and or
  • Certified Marine Technician ( preferred )
  • 5 plus years experience in marine (asset)
  • Pay attention to detail in fast paced environment
  • Valid BC drivers licence class 5
  • Heavy trailer endorsement ( asset )
  • Independent and self motivated
